Left over candy canes anyone?

Every single year, after Christmas, I am left with tons of candy canes. (Does anyone even really like them?) This year I've decided to put them to good use and make these Valentine's day treats. Cute idea, huh? Hopefully this doesn't turn out to be more work than it's worth.

Oh my gosh! So cute! Let me know how they turn out! I'd try them myself if they work. :)

take some before and after pics so we can see your mad skills. (paul is a human trash compactor and always eats the stuff i don't like, like candy canes).

oh, and by the way i clicked on that design sponge link you have listed a while ago and i am ADDICTED. i check it like multiple times a day and save pictures from it for my "house ideas" file.

And the verdict is:
they came out really cute! i'm going to give a sucker to each kid in my primary class.

what i would do differently next time:
use MINI candy canes- the big ones weren't as stable on the little sucker stick

i decided i like candy canes- just not by themselves (i.e. crushed up & put into fudge, or sprinkled on top of peppermint cupcakes)

Heather,
How did you make the suckers? I have 2 bags of 100 candy canes each and I was going to throw them away but I would rather make these cute suckers. If you can't get on my blog then please email me at avasmommy96@gmail thank you!
