Let Your Love Flow...

My father-in-law, Larry Williams, has got to be one of the most kind and genuine people I know. He is a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and very much the peacemaker in a loud, obnoxious (but fun) family. Larry is also a musician. He's an amazing guitar player and plays the piano, but mostly he is a song writer. In 1976 his song, "Let Your Love Flow," went to no. 1 on the billboard charts and internationally. It has been covered by Ray Charles, Ziggy Marley, and Joan Baez (to name a few) and has been in numerous commercials, movies, and even in a hallmark card.

For those of you who are like me and part of the "tivo generation," you probably haven't seen a lot of  commercials lately. Here are a couple of great commercials that have recently featured Larry's song.

apparently, the girl singing in this commercial is Jack Black's sister-in-law, Petra Haden. I really like this version & wish I could buy in on iTunes.

this is a commercial in the uk (obviously). pretty clever, it kinda reminded me of this nike commercial that i loved, where the whole city plays tag

I LOVED both commercials! The song is amazing...that is why it is still popular for commercials, movies and greeting cards.

The picture of Larry playing the guitar to Wendy is too cute!

Those are great commercials and such a wonderful song. I will have to go look it up on itunes now.

Davin is 14 months old. He was born 3/24/08. Don't worry about Wendy not walking yet. Weston didn't walk until 16 months. He was just lazy I guess. I didn't expect Davin to walk early, but I'm just ready for him to be able to come outside and walk around and play. He will get there soon I'm sure and so will Wendy.

Cool post. I have seen the US commercial surprisingly and I loved that UK commercial. I got really nervous when that guy took the fist dip and it was as high up as a sky scraper.

I have a feeling Wendy is going to love music when she is older.
